I am From (Marvin)

I am from the day and the night where sunshine reflects off the cool water.
I am from the heart shaped rock found under the fine porch.
I am from the squishy sponge cake my mom makes to cheer me up.
I am from the life of regret and forget.
I am from the days with Brandon hanging till day turns dusk.
I am from the top of the roof looking out at the open.
I am from the swing set that lied in the tracks of the shade.
I am from the days of tag where short cuts lead the way.
I am from the world of haters and lovers.

  2. Wow! I really enjoyed reading this piece Marvin. It has filled me with curiosity and wonder. You've created some powerful images and have composed lines that have a rhythmic beauty. I particularly like, "...hanging till day turns dusk" and, "... in the tracks of the shade" Quite wonderful!

For future pieces, continue to expand on some of these ideas. Pull apart some of these images and explore them more fully. What are your emotional connections to these images? What do they mean to you?

I can't wait to read more!
