I am from the squishy sponge cake my mom makes to cheer me up.
I am from the life of regret and forget.
I am from the days with Brandon hanging till day turns dusk.
I am from the top of the roof looking out at the open.
I am from the swing set that lied in the tracks of the shade.
I am from the days of tag where short cuts lead the way.
I am from the world of haters and lovers.

ReplyDeleteWow! I really enjoyed reading this piece Marvin. It has filled me with curiosity and wonder. You've created some powerful images and have composed lines that have a rhythmic beauty. I particularly like, "...hanging till day turns dusk" and, "... in the tracks of the shade" Quite wonderful!
