My Teacher
The first day at school, everything was special for me. Special desks and special chairs suddenly appeared in my mind. It was totally different than Kindergarten. The main thing was I felt worried I wonder if my teacher would be nice. No, she was actually not nice ,but after a “teacher change” she changed a lot, she started to be kind and patient. Now I will tell you how she changed.
“Ring ring” the bell rang. A beautiful young teacher came to my class. She said in a sweet voice: “ hello, my dear children, welcome to our school, my name is Ms. Lu and I will be your teacher for school years.(In China the same teacher and the same classmates accompany you until you go to high school.) I felt so happy, because that Ms. Lu looked very nice.
Unfortunally, I was totally wrong. Ms. Lu was okay before, but not after. After a month, she started to scold us all day. She ripped student’s books just because that student kept not finishing his homework for 3 days. She threw student’s backpack outside and asked him to get out only because he didn’t listen to her for whole day. Everyone started to hate this teacher. One day a strange woman walked to our class, she told us coldly: “your teacher went to Japan and she will come back after a month.” “Yay!” a student yelled. That woman glanced him, she chided: “shut up! Your teacher is young , she didn’t know how to be serious to students, now I will help her for this part. I am Mrs. Zhang. Now we’ll learn lesson 10 and we will have a big unit test tomorrow!”
“ Ms Zhang is a bad teacher, don’t you think our Ms. Lu is better than her?” my best friend Lucy asked me. “hum, I wonder if she would be nice tomorrow.” Lucy screamed: “Are you crazy??” she elbowed Nina. “what do you think?” Nina didn’t answer her, she turned to me: “I miss Ms.Lu so much!!”
After a month……
Our real teacher Ms. Lu came back! “Yay!”Now this time Mrs. Lu turned to a nice teacher, and in my mind she is a beautiful fairy, but I would never tell anyone. I would hide it deeply in my heart. The first day of school was very special, but now the school year is starting show me the mystical part.

pencil,pen,eraser
my sister was using a pen,
my brother was using a eraser.
The eraser ran away,
the pencil ran away.
the pen ran away!!!
Suddenly the pen, eraser and pencil
bump to each other!!!
The went to my hand,
the eraser went to my sister's hand,
the pencil went to my brother's hand, and they are all happy
when I went to camp
false alarm!!
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!" I screamed in terror."Stop that noise!" my mom shouted from her room."Yeah, Selena"my sister smirked. I scrambled up stairs with a cookie and raced into my mom's room and shrieked "Mom! pack up!!! "Why?" asked my mom calmly "We are moving next month Selena, why pack so early?" "Um, just thinking" I mumbled. I stormed into my sister's and glared at her. She was holding a pair of binoculars. She was watching me the whole time! "EXPLAIN!!!!" I screamed at her. "I'm bird watching?" she said uncertainly, "yeah right," I said, bored. "I'm dead.'' she muttered, "yup!" I agreed.

The day I grew a flower
Now the flower is waiting for water.
It seems the flower loves the grass.
In the afternoon the flower plays with the grass.
The grass also likes the flower.
Now it is before night I again give the flower water.
In the middle of the night there is no water.
Now the flower is sleeping with the grass.
tomorrow is a new day for the flower.
The flower likes the grass and the water

Ideas for a poem in summer
I was resting in the shade
Thinking up some ideas
I was looking for ideas
In the cool shade
Because of the roasting sun the afternoon
The tree provided protection and shade
From the blazing heat of the afternoon
Which helped in thinking up ideas
So there I was in the afternoon,
thinking up ideas in the shade.

Imagine that three thousand years ago in the fish world, there was a rock pyramid where are treasure boxes, luxuries, golden rings and charming jewels were hidden. Three years ago there were two stone colour fish brothers. The big brother’s name was killer Hunter and the younger brother was named Knight Hunter. Killer, Knight and their adventure team found the ancient rock pyramid with old and dirty rockweed on it. They dug and discovered the treasures. But Knight’s avaricious brother killer wanted to have all the luxuries. Killer pinched at his teammate and chewed the others. Knight pierced Killer with his sword. A drib of blood dropped on the ground. Knight and his teammate took the treasures and went back and lived with their family in happiness.
Isn’t that an interesting story? Actually that story is a quarter true. Even that was about three years ago, I can taste the memories I had with my huge fish tank that had a silver frame on the side and the bunch of fish used to lived in the fish tank.
The true story began on the Saturday night. My whole big family and I were at my granduncle’s house. We ate lunch and dinner together and we played games or talked together after. After dinner time I saw my granduncle was feeding his fish. He is a real crazy fish fan. He got two extra huge fish tank and a normal huge one. I watched the pretty fish swimming in the box with their babies. Suddenly I thought I wanted to have some fish. When I was thinking and staring at the fish tank. My uncle was looking at me, and he seems to notice my mind. He taped my shoulder and asked me, “Wendie, do you want to take that fish tank home?” he pointed to the fish tank on the table. “You can take that any time you want. Because I don’t need that any more.” I nodded and said, “Okay!” I took the fish tank home. The next day I woke up early at seven o’clock. I was ecstatic! I washed the fish tank and filled it with water. My parents woke up soon. I asked my dad to go to the pet shop together. He said, “Okay!” We bought ten fish. There’re two stone colour fish, two red ones, two black ones and four of the ones that got black body and yellow tail.
I put all fish in the fish tank, they swam around and looked normal. So I went back to my room. Suddenly my dad yelled, “Your grey fish is biting the other fish!” I ran as fast as I could to the living room. The stone colour fish had bitten three small fish and the small fish were dead. I filled my red bucket with water and I called it “jail”. I wanted to catch the stone colour fish who bi the other fish and the normal stone colour fish, because he was a suspect. I tried to use my fish net to catch the killer, but he was smart. He hid behind the rock pyramid and the machine that blew air bubbles. Finally my hand caught it and I put it in the jail with his “brother”. The normal grey fish looks like killer’s brother. After that I decided to name mine fish. The stone colour fish that bit others is named killer. The other stone colour fish is called knight.
The next day I saw that killer looked sick, he was half dead half alive. He was sure in pain. Abruptly I saw knight bite his brother, after about thirty second Killer died. I was really wondering if Knight is Killer’s brother. If Knight is, he’s probability didn’t want to see his brother to die in too much pain, so he choose d to let his brother die quicker. Or because killer bit too many other fish, Knight wanted to help other fish. After a few days I released Knight from the jail and every thing was normal again. My fish died after a few months one by one. Knight lived for the longest. But any ways my story was based on this. Believe it or not is your choice. But it was always a good memory, like a star on the midnight sky of my heart.

A sheet of paper, floating in the breeze,
A cloud is a white balloon, flying higher and higher,
A cloud is free, just like me!
Vacation
A break from all the homework,
And eating all the different kinds of food.
My mom also cooks yummy food,
But you get to relax when you're on vacation,
And not ever think about homework!
Sometimes you still have to do some homework,
But you can do it while eating yummy food.
I wish that all year long we could have vacations.
The good thing for always being on vacation is that you can eat yummy food, but without homework you won't learn anything...
What is a cloud?
A bag of cotton candy.
A thin sheet of paper,
A pillow in the sky.
A soft chunk of play dough,
A big round snowball.
A tiny little butterfly,
An eagle in the sky.
A cloud is a cloud.

Piano Exam
They're vacationing, biking, hanging out at the mall or buying
an ice cream at the beach. And then imagine a girl sitting at a
piano for FOUR HOURS. EVERY DAY. I used to like piano,
but that was before. Now i don't like playing piano. But I have
to do it.
Really this whole thing is all my fault. I kept on leaving the harder
things last so my piano teacher had to keep adding more practice
time. I went from practicing one hour......to four hours. The
reason I'm doing this is because of my piano exam on August
10th ( which is in four weeks!!! ) so I have to practice lots.
I'm getting really nervous. Every piano lesson for the past 3 months
my piano teacher has been telling me I have to practice more. I can
make her happy sometimes by playing my best songs, but I dont know
if it will keep working. I have to memorize 6 songs and a whole
book full of technical.
I just need one more song to memorize and I need to practice my Appegios.
I promised myself I would practice more, pay attention, listen to
my piano teacher and work hard. I hope I get a good mark.

The crazy night
I was watching TV,
From the soft old couch,
And there was popcorn everywhere.
While my popcorn was everywhere,
My mom turned off the TV,
And my dad exploded the couch.
The old dirty couch
Was gone the TV
Was upstairs and my popcorn was still everywhere.
The couch and the TV were back and paper was everywhere.

10 Things I Find Poetry In
In the deep blue waters.
In the soft blue sky that I see every morning.
The fridge that feeds me every morning.
In the pantry that feeds me snacks.
My nice soft loving gerbil.
The soft walls of my wallet.
My nice soft bed that puts me to sleep every night.
My 1st stuffie. The way it feels so soft makes me feel warm inside.
My mom and dad. The way they cheer me up when i am sad.
What is a Leaf

A leaf is a snowflake floating down.
A leaf is a flat flower flowing with the wind.

The Horrible Exam
At home my mom made me play piano again. I wished I had said I quit. For 2 months I suffered from people telling me to practice or yelling at me that I have to do the exam.
Finally January came. Although everyone was happy and excited, I was the most negitave person on earth. I was so nervous. My teeth were chattered even though it was 30'c outside. Plus my piano teacher was more crazy. "4HOURS OF PLAYING, DO YOU HERE ME? I SAID 4 HOURS!" she had screamed at me.
When the exam came , it was on the same day as my talent show audition. I was more scared and nervous than a mouse who was going to be caught by a cat.
At Shadbolt Center, I sat patiently with my mom. I asked her if I can play my DS so I can relax a bit, but she said,"No.". Then it was my turn.
When I went in, my hands were dripping with sweat. I sat down on the creeky black bench. Suddenly my mind went blanck. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and played my first song.
The final part of the exam was the hardest because it was sight reading. The exam teacher picks 2 lines of music that I had never played before and wants me to play it by sight. I made 3 mistakes I thought then that I'll never pass now.
When I saw my marks, I got a total of 80%. I was so relieved. I almost skipped back home, and because I passed my mom bought me a strawberry ice cream cone. Then we happily went home.

Leaving Koko
The End.
The BEST Summer Ever
A taxi arrived in front of our house, so we put our entire luggage in it. After what seemed like hours of painful waiting, we finally got to the immense airport. We checked-in, and gave our luggage to the lady there. We went shopping after. There was a store where they gave free samples of delicious- in my opinion anyways- tuna and crackers. I ate two samples, and when I reached for the third, my mom said to leave it for the other people.
When we got on the plane, I noticed that there were a lot of games, so I started playing them. At the end, I was playing tic-tac-toe and kept on winning. When it was lunchtime, I ordered a dish with chicken and rice, but most of the rice was really hard, so I only ate a little. The dessert was scrumptious though, because it was mango mousse. I fell asleep soon after I finished the mousse. The next time I opened my eyes, I saw the Japan airport below us.
Eventually, when we stepped out of the airport, it felt like we were shoved into an enormous oven. It was really hot, and the air was stuffy. We waited a few minutes for the limousine bus to come (with, thankfully, air conditioning), and got on. I don’t know why they called it a “limousine bus” because the inside and outside was the same as any other bus except for the Japanese words.
When I first stepped into the 5 star hotel, it was like I was in a castle. There were lights everywhere, and a few colossal sparkling chandeliers. The lady at the front desk checked us in, and gave us tickets for breakfast because we already paid.
After we were settled, we set off for dinner. We went to the mall and bought sushi to bring back to the hotel. There was a little fridge in the corner, and I decided to see if there was anything in it. There was a sign next to the fridge that read: If you take a drink out of the fridge, the cost will be automatically put into your receipt. I opened the fridge door. It was loaded with drinks. There was coke, juice, wine, water, and loads of other drinks. When I looked closer at the fridge, I noticed that there was a detector beside each drink, so they would know if you took a drink out of its spot.
The next day, we woke up at 6:00 am for breakfast. There were 5 restaurants to pick from, and after 5 minutes of deciding, we picked the Japanese-Western one. At the entrance of the restaurant was a fountain with lights around it. There was so much to eat: fries, cakes, rice, fruits, and much more. It was really delicious.
After lunch, we took a bus to Disneyland. My favourite rides were “It’s a small world” and “The pirates of the Caribbean”. When we were on the bus going back to the hotel, I almost fell asleep.
The next morning, we went shopping and I bought lots of toys, a lunch box, candy, and a watch. It was sort of boring though, because I had to wait for her when she tried on clothes.
The third day, we went to the park. It was kind of scary because it was raining, and no one except me and my mom were there. I saw a small lake and a weird building behind it. My mom said that she would take a picture of me in front of the lake. When I stood in front of the water, I felt as if I was going to fall in.
A few hours later on the plane, I thought of all the things we did in Tokyo, and of all the things we were going to do in Taiwan.
That was the best summer ever.

Something Funny
I was reading and suddenly burst out laughing. While I wasn't looking, my sister, Amanda, who was really quite mischievous, managed to get baby butt lotion, opened it and rubbed it all over her legs. Amanda was about two at that time, just past her birthday. Amanda was watching TV but I think she still heard me. I was laughing so hard I dropped my book, and while clutching my stomach, I got my mom's cell phone. I took five pictures and a video. i almost fell over going downstairs to show my mom the pictures and video.I was laughing way to hard.
"Mom................. Dad..................... Amanda.................. funny..................... thing!" I couldn't manage to stand still!Still laughing, I clumsily pressed the buttons to show my mom and dad the video. I took a total of eight close-ups of her legs. It was hilarious!
By the time Mom got upstairs, Amanda had already gotten her arms covered with the lotion. She looked a lot like a snowman with legs and pink clothes in the Fall. I fell onto the armchair and stared pounding on it, still shrieking with laughter.
"Shush! It's 9:00! Really, Kathy, what is so funny?" Mom asked me, apparently annoyed. Parents are so weird these days.
As you should've guessed, I was still laughing. I couldn't understand why my mom didn't think it was funny. I couldn't sleep until 10:00! Good thing i have my own room. Mom and Dad would've killed me. Not physically, technically. Everytime I heard "Amanda" for another week, I burst out laughing.
So even today I still have the little video about the not-so-innocent girl doing the not-so-little incident.

A Ray Of Sunny Shine
My Aunt Bruna looked at our backyard fence with an expression that revealed both amusement and confusion.
“Why,” she asked with a smirk, “is there chicken wire atop the fence? You haven't become farmers have you?”
We were not raising chickens, or any other birds for that matter. Nonetheless our wooden backyard fence, which was already 5 and one half feet high, was indeed topped by a further foot and a half of metal fencing. This gleaming metal embellishment gave the rear of our house the look and feel of a prison courtyard.
“Because of her,” my dad answered, pointing toward the back of the yard.
There, laying stretched in the shade of a cherry tree, was a small yellow dog. The dog was no more that 50 centimetres long from nose to tip of tail, and stood maybe half that. She was a strange mix of Chihuahua and Terrier, and had been rescued from a shelter in Surrey several years earlier when she was only slightly bigger than a tennis ball. The chicken wire, if you can believe it, had been put up to keep her from jumping over the fence, but even this desperate strategy proved useless. Sunny had quickly learned how to pull the metal fencing down with her paws and kick herself over. Using this strategy this dog, who was shorter that a rubber boot, was able to escape over a fence more than five times her height.
Escape, perhaps, is the wrong word to use. She never went very far. Her explorations were always limited to our immediate neighbourhood, and she always came back before dinner. Sometimes she would return covered in dirt, or dust, but normally she would slip into the house and simply pretend she had never been gone. It was because of this wandering spirit that she was known to all the neighbours on the block.
“Saw Sunny yesterday!” Mr. Cowan would often call to me as I returned from school. “Sunny sat with me on the porch this morning,” Mrs. Timms would cheerfully tell me as I delivered my papers. Everyone in the neighbourhood knew and loved Sunny. Everyone that is except for Mr. Chan. Mr. Chan was a nice enough man, but he hated dogs, and because he hated dogs, Sunny loved him.
“Ric! Ric” he would yell, “Ric! Sunny is killing me!”
This would happen every couple of months, and would usually mean that Sunny had found Mr. Chan working in his yard and had gone over to play. My dad would run over to find Mr. Chan backed up against a wall, holding the miniscule Sunny at bay with a shovel. Sunny, thinking this a marvelous and imaginative game, would jump side to side, barking and wagging her tail furiously.
“Thank goodness!” Mr. Chan would yell after Sunny had been scooped up by my father. My dad would always apologize profusely, to which Mr. Chan would normally chuckle a relieved, “Ok.. Ok... No problem...”
No problem. Well, not quite. Sunny was my dog. She slept in my bed most nights, sat with me while I did homework, and went pretty much wherever I went. I loved her and she loved me. But for some reason she hated my pants. I'm not sure why this was. But she did. I never had a pair of jeans that lasted more than a couple of months. Sometimes, when I would go out to mow the lawn, I would find a pair of my pants under a bush, or behind the tool shed. Sometimes I would find only a pocket, or a belt loop, the rest of the crime remaining a mystery. Some dogs have a thing for shoes, or slippers. For Sunny, it was just my pants. Her most obvious attacks on my leg-wear would take place in the afternoon, just after 3 o'clock. Whenever I would return from school, she would be waiting on the front lawn for me to appear. When she got her first glimpse of me as I turned the corner onto our street, she would launch herself along the roadway with all the speed of a missile. The first I would see of her was a distant yellow streak. Then, seconds later, I would hear the metallic clinking of her collar as it was jostled about her neck.
I would have only seconds to prepare before she lunged with deadly precision at my pant leg. Her tiny but determined jaws would hold the loose denim off my jeans in an unbreakable grip.
“Hurrgggggharaghhhghhhhh!” She would growl at my pants.
“Come on Sunny,” I would then say, “let's go,” and I would would drag her the rest of the way home. Maybe she thought it was the pants that made me go to school everyday. I don't know. But she sure hated those pants.
Today my jeans last a lot longer. They don't go missing from my room, or turn up in mysterious pieces in the yard. When I walk home in the afternoons now there is no yellow streak, and no metal clink. And that's too bad.
