My First Days in Canada
It was morning in Canada, but not a normal one, my family and I just landed in Canada. We came here because my parents thought that if we were to leave Malaysia, my sister and I will probably get a better education and future. When we landed, we walked to the drop off zone.
My aunt and uncle picked us up and drove us to their house, I hadn’t seen that house for 3 years, so I was tingling about what was new, there’s only one difference, Sasha (My aunt and uncle’s dog) wasn’t there. I had found out that she had passed away in October.
I felt like I was going to barf, even though I was with him for only 2 weeks, it felt like years. That event had to be taken out of my mind, for that can’t cloud my mind if I want to get a good job in Canada.
When settled in their house, my parents were finding a school for me and my sister. My parents found a school for us, the school was Westridge Elementary. We had a tour of the school and we signed up. From then on I was a student of Westridge Elementary (for now...).
The End

The End
Well, Wen Shen, I'm glad your parents made the choice of school that they did!
ReplyDeleteI often wonder what it must be like for young people to make a new start in not only a new school, but a new country. I lived the entirety of my first 28 years in Coquitlam (except for a few trips abroad). It wasn't until that 28th year that I really experienced such a grand upheaval, and as an adult I found the experience quite challenging!
Thanks for giving us this glimpse into your experience!
Did you make new friends really quickley?
