ballet exams

The tense of your muscles. The pain trying to keep perfect posture. Practicing and remembering every arm, leg and head movement. Practicing for the important day. The exams are one hour and fifteen minuets. Pins pushed in you head to make the perfect bun tugging your hair, accidently tasting the great smelling and horrible tasting hair spray, the feeling you face being just like a face lift just to take it out and make a perfect flat bun. Feeling that butterflies are stuck in my stomach, not wonting to do the exams. Up the stair is he room where we do the exams you waiting for the examiner to ring the bell for us to come in the room. First to run in the room I felt the tense of my muscles and the shake of my hands. As the examiner watching our ever move, holding the bar doing my favourite exercise you can hear the silence and only the pencil writing rapidly. the delight with the butterflies out of stomach. The joy of finishing bar, running to the center do in my favourite exercise port de bra (carriage of the arms) forgetting the position I start in finally remembering what position I start in when the examiner was not looking. Finally finishing we went to a straight line knowing that we hade to cont beats the thing that I was terrible at having to remember 68’s, 24, 34 and 44 and have a dance move with it. Having to do our dance for the examiner, jumping up with joy to do the dance. Showing the dance in twos I was first to do our dance. When every one was done the dance we did our bows down the stair every noticed that we forgot to do one of the center exercise that you listen to the music and do what ever you wont. Doing the bows again we left the room. It took about four months for the exam papers, jumping with joy because I was got the highest in the class.

The House of Birds

Like a normal day my mom was gardening and planting some flowers in the backyard. I was on the deck watching her as the wind blew towards my forehead. There were lots of sunshine and blooming trees, also the sound of chirping in my ears. There were two birds that were on the garage roof. They brought some food of some sort. But I didn't know what it was. They were small birds with wings wider than there bodies.
I walked towards the door and opened it. As I was about to close the door a bird came in our house! Then the other one came in!
I started to run down my deck, down the stairs and towards my mom. My mom was still doing the same things she was doing when I was on the deck. I finally got to her and tugged her towards the stairs and on to the deck while saying “Mom, come please!!!”
As we came through the door the birds were at the kitchen. “What happened?!” screamed my mom as I took a step forward I saw that the birds were flying around destroying stuff by dropping there bird droppings.
“Two birds came in the house.” I sighed. I tried to help by closing the entrances and exits of the kitchen so they wouldn’t go everywhere. My mom’s eyes dropped as more droppings dripped to the floor. The floor slowly turned as beautiful like a waxed ballroom floor to a dump witch had a horrid feeling to it.
My mom gave a swing at it with a towel for a while. But they didn't go out the door. The only thing left to do was to wait and try to shoo the birds out the door.
My mom started to scream at me saying. “Why did you open the door and let the birds in!?!” But I said nothing back and kept swinging the towel at the birds.
Finally one went out the door. I sighed, I started to breathe hardly. My heart was pounding and sweat was dripping down my spine.
So I took another swing at it with a towel and it finally went out the door. I sighed, it was finally over.
But the kitchen was full of droppings like a dirty car parked in the same spot for years. After we cleaned the floor it was over.

The Excitement of Disneyland
By: Paola Morales
Before the spring break of 2009, my dad told me we were going on a trip to Disneyland. I was so exited, but a little sad because my mom had to stay home with my then-newborn brother. The moment he told me was a week before we left. It was like a tornado in the room. My bag was full in less than 30 seconds. I was like lightning. I was so exited, I forgot the trip was in a week. The days passed, I was in school, not paying attention too much, looking at the clock, waiting, wanting for the next day to come, but the hands of the clock, against me, ticking slower every second.
Finally, the day came, (and spring break had, too) and I woke up so early, I barely slept, due to excitement. I saw the sunshine, and got on my feet. Too bad because of my excitement, I woke up too early, and the hours were slower than ever! I asked where we would be staying, my dad said we would be staying with his friend Ricardo and his family. I asked if he had any kids, my dad said he had a girl and two boys. I asked for their age, he said the girl was 5, and the twins were 3. She was 5, I was 10. I sighed, loudly, since I do NOT like little girls. They always MAKE me play with them. Too bad I could do nothing about it. (Unless, I gave up going to Disneyland for a 5-year-old who was going to be in daycare the whole day.)
The flight took so long, and even longer because I was eager and exited to get there. It was eternity! Anyway, so Ricardo got to the airport 10 minutes after we arrived. During that time, my dad was struggling with a public phone to call my mom. After, I found out we were there because my dad was buying my mom an SUV. We finally got to Ricardo’s house. The day after that was ‘Disney-land day!’ My dad and I stayed in their guest room. So the night came, I didn’t really dream of anything. Mostly too exited to even sleep! I woke up so early, (again,) I was mostly the only one awake. I tried to wake my dad, he didn’t bother. So I decided to take a shower while everybody woke up. My shower took so little, I’m not even sure I showered right. I was too exited. By the time I got out, almost everybody was awake. Now all I needed to do was eat breakfast. I asked for the fastest breakfast I could eat. My dad said it would be better if I ate a big breakfast for the big day ahead. I could barely wait to get out of that house. We went out the door. (Finally!) We got on the car, I could see the big Disneyland castle ahead. Parking took such a long time. Finally, we got to the tram, that took us to the entrance. Then we waited for eternity, to buy the tickets. We finally got there, and I knew, I was in
Wonderland.

friends

I remember it like it was yesterday. How Katrina and I became friends. Katrina is now my best friend, but it wasn’t always like that. It was kindergarten when Katrina and I first met. We hated each other as much as kindergarteners can. Katrina hung out with a boy named Brady. (Brady and I hated each other too) Now that I look back at it I laugh because we showed our un-appreciation by not inviting each other to birthday parties, or not letting one another join “clubs” we made.
One day, Katrina went to Disneyland and I was just really bored. “I’m so bored!” I thought out loud. “Me too” said Brady. I thought for a moment that Brady was going to ask if I wanted to hang out with him. He didn't. Why do I hate Brady? What did he ever do to me? I realized that he did nothing to cause me to hate him. The only reason that I didn't like him was because he hung out with Katrina. That didn't seem very fair. I had one more question to ask myself. Did I ever do something mean to him? The answer was no. I did kind of mean stuff to Katrina, but never to Brady. “Brady do you maybe want to hang out with each other today?” I asked. “Ummm sure,” he said. We found out that we have a lot in common. That day the impossible happened: Brady and I became friends. It had been a week since we became friends. It was Friday. We were outside for recess. I realized something. Brady did too. Katrina went to Disneyland for one week. She will be back on Monday. “So Katrina’s coming back on Monday,” I said. “I know,” replied Brady. “Do you want to be friends with her? Because if you do then we can all hang out together.” “Well I want to try being friends with her, but I don't think she does,” I said. “We’ll see,” was all Brady said.
It was Monday. I could see Brady and Katrina talking, but I could not hear them. I walked closer until I could hear them clearly. Karina: “But I don't want to!” Brady: “Just give her a chance she’s really nice once you get to know her.” Katrina: “No I am sorry but-“Brady interrupted her and yelled “You two have to become friends or else I wont be your friend anymore!” “FINE!” Katrina screamed.
I walked up right beside Katrina. “Hi”, I said. “So are all three of us going to hang out?” “Yea” replied Brady. So Katrina and I hung out, and the impossible happened again. We found out that we have a lot in common and we became friends.
It started out as a forced friendship, but now, in 2010, Katrina and I are true best friends.
